CHEMICAL OPERATOR NOVA Chemicals, a leading producer of Styrenics-based polymers, has an open position at our Painesville, Ohio facility for an entry-level Chemical Operator. The successful candidate will enter the operator training program as a Jr. Operations Technician, the first of four progression levels, which culminates in operating the DCS control board. The Jr. Operations Technician performs a variety of product packaging and material movement activities; operation of lift trucks; quality control; minor maintenance and area housekeeping. Candidates must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts, weekends and overtime. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, advanced training is preferred; minimum 5 years hands-on work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or process environment; a proven history of accomplishment and advancement to positions of increased accountability; ability to handle jobs that are physically and mentally demanding. Successful candidates will possess high attention to detail; ability to work effectively with minimal supervision; commitment to safety, protecting the environment and product quality; effective oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal and team skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, experience with SAP a plus. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
