Age specific knowledge Qualifications Education/Licensure Requirements:
RN - Registered Nurse BSN preferred.
Lactation Educator training program completion w/ current cert.
Must sit for IBCLC exam w/in 6 months of hire & pass w/in 9 months of hire.
Experience & Knowledge:
Knowledge of needs of antepartal and postpartal mother.
Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting.
Evidence of ongoing continuing education and professional development.
Uses selected technical (lactation) and office equipment (e.
g.
, fax, computer, telephone) to meet patient and family needs.
