Summary:
Serves as a facilitator for the implementation for student transition services.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned by the Administration.
Provides special education work study elective courses to transitional youth throughout school districts.
Supports student and employer within a competitive work environment Provides credit and quarterly progress to the district Counsels students to foster development of satisfactory job performance and maintaining job.
Monitor progress of students via community job site visits and effective employer communication.
Provides special education transition consult services to students seeking competitive employment Provides students with job searching skills, resume portfolio, interview preparation, job search assistance/job development, and job placement into competitive employment.
Assists students in applying for jobs and accompanies students to employment interviews.
Develops and provides student internships with local employers for elective credit for Junior/Seniors with disabilities Placement services Provides credit & quarterly progress to district Collaborates with employer to support student and monitor progress Provides transition consult student services per district requests Reflects ability to effectively present information to parents & students, school district team members, and community employers for purposes of collaboration Reflects accuracy and preparation of student records including progress monitoring data, IEP, grades/credits.
Maintains appropriate and timely communication with students, parents, district personnel, employers, and other adult service agencies Job development and placement:
Create and maintain relationships with potential employers Market and present VOED program courses and to solicit cooperation in adapting work situations to special needs of students.
Network and establish contacts with employers to sustain and expand work opportunities for students Evaluates and recommends participants according to specified criteria and counsels /instructs selected students in matters such as career interests, job readiness, and job retention skills and behaviors for all students or specific to internship/consult Provides professional development & ODE updates in the areas of transition per the district request as well as to the VOED program.
Utilize Ohio Department of Education Career Connections Framework Knowledge of Job Training Standards and the Extended Standards to plan instruction appropriate to the learner while working on the jobsite.
Utilize Age Appropriate Transition Assessments.
Provide thorough analysis of assessments to aid in selection of appropriate student goals for IEP development and transition plan (section 4 & 5) for student programs and districts.
Collect, graph and analyze employment and behavioral data to drive instruction.
Education/Experience & Certification:
Maintains an Ohio Department of Education Licensure (Intervention Specialist Mild-Moderate or Moderate to Intensive), Transition To Work Endorsement (TTW) preferred.
Meets requirements of community based employers per request (i.
e.
volunteer orientation, TB test, etc.
) meeting/activities, attendance, etc.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).
Criminal Records Check:
Must comply with Ohio Revised Code 3319.
39 - Criminal Records Check.
Drug Testing:
Must pass a 10 panel drug screen at time of hire and comply with the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
